Workers will manually prepare the ground, plant, cultivate, weed, and harvest, fruits and vegetables by way of assigned tasks given by supervisors. Workers are required to perform given tasks with minimum supervision and expected to keep pace with the group. Workers will clear the ground of rocks, sticks, roots and other debris, by hand, clear brush and trees with a chain saw. Manually weed fields, lay plastic, prune, tie up, drive stakes, pull stakes, by hand or using hand tools, drain water from fields with hand tools and shovels when needed. May repair fences and farm buildings, participate in irrigation activities, routine property maintenance such as mowing and weed eating, spraying. Workers will clean and maintain tools and equipment. Drug screens are performed upon accident, incident or suspicion, at the cost of the employer. No illegal drug use is allowed at or on the work-sites or housing. Failure or refusal of a drug screen is grounds for immediate termination. Applicants must have 3 months of verifiable experience in harvesting strawberries. During peak planting and harvest times, workers may work 60-65 hours a week.
