Job Description: Government Security Specialist Officer (GSSO)

Position Summary:

WGI is seeking a full-time GSSO for Special Access Programs (SAPs) in the Fort Liberty Area to support government agencies.

Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Serves as SAP Security Specialist, responsible for program security to include: information, personnel, physical and industrial security, and document control. Provides SAP security guidance to military, civilian, contractors and subcontractors of all ranks and services. Acts as consultant and subject matter expert to the Group in procedures and requirements as they relate to SAPs. Duties are below but not limited to:

  • Receive and process program access requests, develops justifications, applies security guidance, provides direct support and technical assistance in all matters.
  • Initiates, prepares, researches, staffs, reviews and finalizes for publication, internal and external SOPs, policies, regulations, and supplements thereto.
  • Develops outlines, prepares, schedules, and presents mandatory security training for the Group, civilian employees, and military personnel of all ranks.
  • Schedules all DOD and non-DOD Program indoctrinated personnel selected for screening examinations and makes arrangements for examinations.
  • Works closely with service Program Managers to ensure that the Groups SAP security program is in compliance with all federal security laws and regulations.
  • Validates security clearances for civilian, military and contract personnel.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates the data contained in reports of completed investigations.
  • Implements a security support program involving policies, standards, procedures, methods, techniques, and information used for the protection of all operational aspects of SAP security administration.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Possess a Top-Secret clearance and have the ability to maintain Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Access
  • Minimum of five years of related experience as a Security Specialist, GSSO or CIV equivalent (GS/GG 0080)
  • Demonstrate success working in an environment with many different companies/ partners and stakeholders.
  • Ability to follow established practices and procedures in analyzing situations ordata from which answers can be readily obtained.
  • Receive predetermined work assignments that are subject to a moderate level of control and review.
  • Ability to identify training needs and development opportunities for subordinates.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and a high level of confidentiality.
