Eaton Corporation Production Supervisor (3rd Shift Assembly) in Fayetteville, North Carolina

Eaton’s Power Distribution Controls and Assemblies division is currently seeking a Production Supervisor (3rd Shift Assembly). This role is located out of Fayetteville, NC.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $​​​​80,250 - $117,700 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

Reporting to the MCC Production Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for managing department(s) of employees in the assembly of products for Eaton customers. The primary objectives will be to achieve results on the High 5 metrics (safety, quality, on-time-delivery, inventory, productivity), drive employee engagement, and develop the team to continuously improve.

What you’ll do:

  • Own and drive to engineer out safety risk throughout the owned process.

  • Assist in establishing departmental goals that are challenging targets for the High 5.

  • Devise strategies with documented action plans to achieve targets.

  • Provide input to forecast and hold the team accountable to the process in order to meet commitments.

  • Determine the effect of production load and mix changes on staffing and department operations.

  • Take actions(s) to adjust capacity (labor and/or equipment) to meet new production requirements.

  • Flex resources and/or product across production lines to meet production requirements.

  • Follow up on the progress towards targets:

  • Conduct periodical review of area targets.

  • Take problem-solving countermeasures.

  • Follow up on the results of the countermeasures.

  • Support the team if results are unsatisfactory.

  • Personally address problems of severe nature under area of authority.

  • Improve quality assurance system by building quality into the process.

  • Effectively deal with opportunities identified by the team to help bring about positive resolution.

  • Drive a positive, inclusive high performance work culture through the establishment of clear expectations and accountability from and to the team.

  • Assist in prototyping and providing feedback regarding new product development.

  • Champion the Continuous Improvement Framework in MCC to drive High 5 results and impact Employee Morale.

  • Tailor action planning and strategic goals to provide customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of 1 year work experience in a manufacturing related role.

  • Must be eligible to work in the US on a continual and permanent basis without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Business, Engineering, or related manufacturing related discipline

  • Lean and/or Six Sigma background

  • One (1) year experience managing others in a manufacturing plant or warehouse.

Skills:

  • Applying knowledge of manufacturing procedures/practices including Industrial Engineering principles, production planning and Lean/Six Sigma

  • Proficient in driving Quality Control and Inventory Control

  • Proven Leadership skills – capable of leading change initiatives and drive a high-performance culture

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • The Production Supervisor leadership is critical in the implementation of key corporate initiatives. These include Eaton Lean System, Eaton Business System, and Eaton Safety Program. Not only does the Production Supervisor need a comprehensive understanding of these initiatives, but they must also drive them on the manufacturing floor.

  • Health and Safety Responsibilities - Line Management

  • Ensure job specific safety procedures are established via job safety analysis.

  • Ensure employees receive effective and timely training in safe work practices.

  • Enforce health and safety rules and procedures. Perform job task observations to detect and correct unsafe acts. Provide documentation of all disciplinary actions taken against employees who violate health and safety rules.

  • Ensure that routine inspections are conducted by trained personnel with timely correction of identified safety issues.

  • Facilitate employee involvement in the development, implementation, and updating of health and safety plans and procedures.

  • Frequently review the health and safety performance of personnel and contractors against established objectives and goals.

  • Perform timely investigation of accidents, identification of root cause, and rapid correction of contributing factors.

  • Communicate health and safety information to employees.

  • Demonstrate commitment to health and safety:

  • Knowledgeable of specific compliance requirements in their area of responsibility and ensures active implementation and verification of compliance.
