The Position
Develops specific marketing plans for products or species
Interprets and translates scientific clinical data into commercial implications.
Conducts and manages primary and secondary market research projects, including labeling and advertising.
Analyses data and makes strategic recommendations. Provides marketing insight and direction to optimize new product launches.
Recommends pricing strategies, and monitors budget and expenditures. Ensures product placement and development corresponds to market needs.
Represents marketing group on cross–functional team interfacing with product development, production and manufacturing to develop new products or enhance existing products or product lines.
Duties & Responsibilities:
EXECUTION:
Leading the development of marketing tactical plans, implementation and influencing third-parties
Monitoring and directly supervising all marketing programs of assigned brand according to budget
Developing briefs for communication and media agencies
Coordinate with Technical team, and distributors to support them in product knowledge and marketing supports
Plans and organizes the day-to-day implementation of marketing plans, including development and placement of advertising and public relations materials, preparation of sales support materials, education materials for distributor representatives, dissemination of relevant market and technical information to sales representatives, organization of display materials for trade shows and conferences
DRIVING BUSINESS RESULTS:
Tracks market share trends against plan and amends tactics to defend the market leadership
Spends a significant amount of working time in the field with the sales team and independently to keep in touch with market trends and customer needs and in technical support
Monitors expenditures regularly and implements spending contingency plans as required
Prepares and input accurate monthly forecasts of the product
Supporting the Companion Animal BUSe Head with Annual Discussion Presentation covering marketing; strategy, plan, budget, and forecast
PROCESS / CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION:
In participation with Supply Chain Management, establishes required safety stocks and customer service levels for product supply
Works with the distributor to define individual customer support and pricing optimal to achievement of sales objectives
Works with the distributor in the development of goals and action plans for individual key accounts and key opinion leaders
Work with the Companion Animal BUSe Head for the roll-out and implementation of plans by the Distributor
Develop and regularly update customer database to be able to provide timely and valuable analysis related to customer segmentation, field force deployment, direct promotion spending and others
PEOPLE:
Supports knowledge and skill sharing within the Animal Health division
Builds relationships with respective functions within the MSI and ROPU
Ensure development of skills and abilities through ongoing feedback, coaching and training/development opportunities
Work closely with Animal Health OPU management team to build and improve overall strategic organization capability and enable a transparent, consistent and performance driven culture
LEADERSHIP / SUPERVISOR: (if there are direct reports)
Ensure implementation and compliance to the Performance Management / Talent Management / Compensation Planning / BI People timelines for the year
Ensure that there are development plans for direct reports and that they are being implemented on the agreed timelines
Ensure that talents are properly identified and that they are discussed in the cross validation and succession plans
Ensure that proper coaching is provided during the MAG discussions (midyear, year end, or whenever the need arises).
Ensure the adequate staffing of the team and the development and movement of talents are properly implemented
Requirements
Degree in Business Administration/Marketing or related area; Veterinary and/or AH Professional training will be an advantage
At least 5 years experience in the pharmaceutical sector, with at least 3 of those years in a Marketing position (Prior experience in the Animal Health industry will be an advantage)
