Eric Engelstad Ag Equipment Operator in Fertile, Minnesota

Need 3 full time, temporary, seasonal Ag Equipment Operators to work in Fertile, MN. From: 03/01/2024 to 12/15/2024 Work: 51 hrs./week, Mon.- Sat.8.5 hrs./day, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Work performed in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at the rate of time and a half. JOB DUTIES: Work in fields and perform manual and machine tasks associated with grain and oilseed production with accuracy and efficiency. Plant, cultivate and harvest crops of barley, soybeans, sunflowers, edible beans, corn, wheat. Mow, cut, and weed fields. Perform ditching, shoveling, hoeing, hauling, ground preparation, and other manual tasks. Bending, stooping and kneeling required. Use hand tools including but not limited to hoes, shovels, and saws. Lift, carry, and load/unload products or supplies. Use power equipment including but not limited to: tractors, planters, mowers, plows, sprayers, cultivators, chain saws, high lifts, fork lifts, skid loaders. Must operate agricultural equipment safely, with or without direction. Assist with farm building/field maintenance and repairs. Build/repair fences. Fertilize crops by applying manure in field. Operate towed machines including, but not limited to grain carts. Drive tractors/trucks and operate heavy farm equipment. Clean/sanitize equipment. Work is done in the field for long periods of time. Workers may assist in handling product weighing up to 60 pounds and lifting to a height of 5 feet. Workers must work on their feet in bent positions for long periods of time. Work requires repetitive movements and extensive walking. Work required in fields when plants are wet with dew and rain, and may be required during light rain, snow, moderate winds, direct sun, high humidity and extreme temperatures. Temperatures in fields during working hours can range from 10 to over 100 degrees F. Workers may be required to work during occasional showers not severe enough to stop field operations. Allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, honey bees, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, or related chemicals may affect a workers ability to perform the job. Workers should be able to do the work required with or without reasonable accommodations. Supervisor(s) will provide instructions and directions to workers. Workers must be able to comprehend and follow instructions and communicate effectively to supervisors. Unusual, complex or non-routine activities will be supervised. Workers expected to perform basic duties in a timely and proficient manner without close supervision. Workers must operate equipment, with or without direction, in a manner that protects operator, visitors, other workers, products, trees, crops and equipment. Failure to comply with safety requirements and operating instructions may result in termination. Employer may request, but not require, workers to work more than the stated daily hours and/or on a worker s Sabbath or federal holidays. Workers will have an unpaid lunch break. Worker must report to work at designated time and place each day. Daily or weekly work schedule may vary due to weather, sunlight, temperature, crop conditions, and other factors. Employer will notify workers of any change to start time. JOB REQUIREMENTS: 6 months experience in job duties listed; able to furnish verbal or written employment reference; able to lift 60 lbs.; have or be able to obtain driver's license; clean driving record; pass employer-paid post-hire drug test, failure to comply or pass test will result in immediate termination; pass employer-paid post-hire background check, with the discovery of felony conviction resulting in immediate termination, out of concern for general public safety. No minimum education requirement. Saturday work required. EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 f contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance; employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $15.46 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts.
