Teledyne Gas & Flame is seeking a Territory Sales Manager for Portable Gas Detection for the General Industrial Market supporting the Americas activities. The position is Home Office based in the Sales Territory.

We are taking applications for a Territory Sales Manager located in the United States.

Detailed Description:

Teledyne Gas & Flame is seeking a Territory Sales Manager for Portable Gas Detection – Industrial Market United States.

This position is responsible for profitable promotion and growth of the Portable Gas portfolio in the USA region. The successful candidate will join the Teledyne Gas & Flame business, working in close co-operation with the Teledyne-GMI Engineering team, Teledyne-Detcon support staff, and will be part of the America’s Teledyne Gas & Flame gas detection team.

The role will involve the managing of Portable Gas detection business partners and end users in the region. As a minimum this would involve supporting, consulting, preparing quotes and building relationships with partners, rep agents, and end users in the Industrial Safety and Emergency Response markets.

The successful candidate will display strong sales and distributor management skills, demonstrate the ability to work independently and maintain focus on working towards Teledyne Gas & Flame’s values, strategies, and objectives.

This position reports directly to the Sales director based in the America’s.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop an in-depth knowledge of the Portable gas & flame detection product portfolio via successful completion of required sales and technical training program and utilize this knowledge to promote the products to new and existing customers in the USA region.

Responsible for achieving agreed sales targets for the region by identifying sales opportunities in new and existing markets to meet or exceed business growth objectives.

Build strong business relationships with both established and new distributors in the USA. Manage and assess the performance of existing distributors and contracted rep agencies. Identify and target new distribution partners for portable gas & flame detection in the region.

Identify key end user accounts in the territory and implement sales plan to support direct / via distributor selling structure to achieve sale growth.

Meet regularly with existing customers and distributors and prospects in sales territory to understand their evolving business needs.

Prepare customer specific business plan.

Attend sales meetings and exhibitions in America and internationally as part of the AMER Sales team.

Conduct sales presentations, customer training and seminars.

Daily use of our CRM, ERP and other IT tools (in order to provide customer information, forecasts and reports)

Work effectively with other internal departments: Marketing, Inside Sales & Customer Service, Field Service, Product Management, and Application Engineering.

Attend conferences and professional association meetings and promote the group product solutions and brands.

Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information on weekly basis.

DESIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

Detailed knowledge of Portable Gas & Flame Detection market in AMER region and closely aligned markets.

Basic knowledge to provide first level of service support to customer.

Must be able to demonstrate professional field sales record (5+ years) with a proven track record.

Proven ability to train and teach internal and external customers.

Proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels both externally and internally.

Proven ability to create and maintain effective customer networks.

Demonstrated effectiveness in business development and lead qualification.

Degree Level qualification in sales/engineering/business or associated subject.
