Valfilm LLC Maintenance Technician in Findlay, Ohio
Essential Job Functions:
- Understand and perform preventative maintenance according to schedules
- Review job orders to ensure accuracy, viability, and safety of instruction
- Understand and perform work orders following job plans and leadership direction
- Read and understand blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
- Troubleshoot and repair operating equipment errors and deficiencies
- Repair and calibrate hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies
- Use measuring instruments to verify specifications
- Operate testing instruments to determine performance of electro-mechanical equipment
- Install electronic parts and hardware
- Replace faulty electrical components
- Operate machinery for metalworking to make housings, fittings, fixtures, etc.
- Determine method and sequence of assembly of a part, machine, or other equipment
- Die cleaning
- Enter data and information for diagrams and engineering files
- Operation of forklift JIB/BOOM
- Facilities maintenance, including but not limited to: repairs, painting, plumbing, electrical, grounds
- Ability to correctly wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including fall restraints and full face respirator
* Other Specific Responsibilities:*
- Perform work and instillation from elevated surfaces
- Perform preliminary work in preparation for Tech II, III, or Engineer
- Assist with workflows and creating procedures
- Assist with maintenance planning and documentation
- Assist Engineering, Maintenance, and Facilities projects as Subject Matter Expert where applicable
- Obtain work permits as needed
- Be on call for repairs and die cleaning as needed
- Scan parts from crib, interact with SAP system
- Participate in job-related and safety training assignments
- Knowledge and compliance with company policies including Employee Handbook
- Knowledge and compliance with company safety rules and procedures
- Knowledge and compliance with SQF, ISO, and Quality Assurance rules and procedures
- Other duties as assigned by leadership
Education/Certification/Experience:
- * *HS Diploma or Equivalent
- 1 year mechanical maintenance experience
- 1 year electrical maintenance preferred
- Journeyman Industrial Millwright preferred
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of lubes, grease, oil, and cleaners
- Must be able to read and write work procedures
- Use and understanding of measurement tools
- Use and understanding of soldering equipment
- Use and understanding of welding equipment
- Use and understanding of hand and power tools
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair operating equipment
- Use and understanding of electrical measurement tools and electricity basics
- Critical thinking to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and risks of alternate solutions
- Demonstrate capacity to learn Level II electrical repair and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to operate computers, including Microsoft applications and SAP software
- Ability to learn and operate forklift equipment
