Position Summary:

Plans, manages and conducts activities in support of Cardiac Services performance improvement (PI).

Coordinates the collection of clinical data elements from multiple sources.

Manages and maintains designated databases.

Compiles, analyzes and evaluates data using statistical methods, benchmark data or other comparative measures.

Collaborates with Heart & Vascular and/or Surgical Educator to support ongoing cardiac improvement activities. Prepares and presents results of PI activities.

Participates in the development, education and maintenance of the Cardiac Services PI program. Responsible for monthly meeting of Multi-Disciplinary Quality Improvement Committee (MDQIC) of Quality metrics for CT Surgery Program. May assist with the implementation of new and existing policies, procedures, practices and standards.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Assists Cardiac Services in the development of goals and objectives, policies, procedures and protocols as they relate to the PI program.

  2. Data abstraction for CT Surgery cases.

  3. Responsible for uploading data to the appropriate national databases.

Required:

  • RN or BSN degree.

  • Registered Nurse with in the state of Michigan

  • Two years of recent clinical or healthcare experience

Preferred:

  • Three to five years of recent clinical or healthcare experience as a RN.

  • One to two years experience in Critical Care, Step-down or Heart & Vascular services.
