Summary:

The Flint Center for Educational Excellence is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Networked Improvement Communities. This role is pivotal in coordinating intensive professional development support for teachers within the Network for School Excellence and the Flint Early Childhood Collaborative. The Director will lead efforts in adopting culturally responsive pedagogy, managing seamless kindergarten transitions, and achieving shared instructional aims.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, this position requires a strategic leader who can collaborate with technical assistance providers and instructional coaches to enhance instructional outcomes for Flint's children.

Professional Development Coordination

  • Lead the implementation of professional development programs for preschool and kindergarten educators focused on culturally responsive pedagogy.
  • Coordinate efforts to support seamless kindergarten transitions and the achievement of shared instructional goals.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement cycles using the Plan-Do-Study-Act methodology to identify needs, implement interventions, measure changes, and refine strategies.
  • Facilitate professional learning opportunities and provide expert support to teachers and instructional staff.
  • Serve as the Flint Center Coordinator for State Continuing Education Clock Hours.

     

Collaboration and Coordination

  • Work closely with technical assistance providers and instructional coaches to support teachers in the Network for School Excellence and Flint Early Childhood Collaborative.
  • Build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including educators, administrators, and community partners.
  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned technical assistance providers and instructional coaches, ensuring alignment with the Center's strategic goals.
  • Participate in curriculum development and review processes at Network for School Excellence and Flint Early Childhood Collaborative schools.
  • Provide direct instructional coaching to Network teachers and instructional coaches modeling best practices.

     

Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Analyze student performance data to identify achievement gaps and plan targeted interventions.
  • Collaborate with the evaluation team to develop and coordinate the use of measurement tools and dashboards to track progress and impact.
  • Develop site and initiative level reports on the progress of professional development services offered to teachers in the Network for School Excellence and Flint Early Childhood Collaborative.
  • Evaluates performance and effectiveness of academic out of school time programs

     

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Education, Educational Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience.
  • At least three years of administrative experience in a site or district educational setting.
  • Proven experience in coordinating professional development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities (SKA) Required:

Strong understanding of early elementary math and literacy instruction, culturally responsive pedagogy, and early childhood education.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
