DESCRIPTION
Performs a variety of clerical work in the processing of police records. Prepares reports utilizing information from a wide verity of sources including Law Enforcement and public records. Assess threats, analyze criminal incidents and provides support to the overall enforcement operation. Operates a two-way radio in the receiving and sending inquiries and messages. Performs related work as required.
SUPERVISION RECIEVED: Works under the supervision of an administrative employee who makes work assignments and reviews work for conformance to departmental rules and procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluation of intelligence information concerning criminal activity.
- Gathering and analysis of data to develop evidence.
- Organization and presentation of facts in a clear and concise manner orally and in writing.
- Obtaining information via Departmental Criminal Records, Department Reporting Systems, Social Networks Sites and Public Records by using computer systems.

``` - Ensures that the intelligence records are up to date in the databases - If required to by the court, act as an expert witness in a case - Analysis of data using specialist software. - Supervising the collection of criminal data. - Keeping up with the current security and confidentiality rules. - Implementation of plans and policies to reduce future criminal offenses. - Coming up with policies to tackle the trends in particular crimes such as drugs, assaults, robberies. Fraud or theft. - Working knowledge of Business English. - Ability to spell accurately, including familiarity with the spelling of more common given and surnames. - Reasonable knowledge of offices practices and procedures. - Ability to write legibly. - Ability to code and translate messages under stressful situations. - Personal record such as to withstand rigid criminal investigation and character evaluation. - Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with other employees and the general public. - Ability to work in a manner that will not needlessly endanger the safety to one's self, other persons, or equipment.
