How will you make an impact?
The Quality Technician III works with Manufacturing, Quality, and Quality Engineering to continuously improve quality performance ensuring compliance with quality standards. This role performs a variety of quality control tests/inspections on products, materials, components and parts at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with quality and reliability standards, and to ensure effective inspection and testing procedures are implemented.
What will you do?
Assists in performing root cause analysis and implementing improved processes that will improve metrics (Quality / Efficiency)
Is able to conduct FAI activities for both server and rack sides of the business
Completes level 1 and 2 LPA audits
Provides recommendations to the engineering staff to improve line balancing and optimize machine programs, their set-ups to meet or exceed theoretical product run-rate, and line(s) efficiency
Understands duties and performance calculation for Server Quality Inspection
Participates in QRQC sessions per stop line matrix
Understands duties and performance calculation for Rack Quality, FNI, and OBA
Able to identify and develop inspectors and operators that have potential for growth in the organization and teach them critical product and process knowledge.
Conducts purge and hold activities as required to ensure no bad product reaches the customer.
Ensures standard work is implemented and followed in inspection process
Actively participation in the manufacturing floor to assure visual standards and implementation of 5S standards
Identify in real-time, quality issues/defects generated in the manufacturing process and take necessary actions immediately. Provides daily report at end of shift and my represent quality in the CAC meeting
To serve as a communication link between operators and management.
How will you get here?
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred
4 years related experience and/or training
Experience certifying typical metrology equipment such as calipers, micrometers and computer controlled gauging equipment or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
General knowledge of electronic component handling.
Knowledge of process flows to include flow charts and written processes.
Reading, writing and math skills.
Working Knowledge of Excel, Word, and Jabil system.
Strong interpersonal skills required, with demonstrated ability to build and maintain teamwork.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of inspectors, supervisors, managers.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to operate a personal computer including using a Windows based operating system and related software.
Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabils software packages.
Ability to write simple correspondence. Read and understand visual aids / procedures.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
