Jabil Second Shift Supervisor CVG100 Server Side in Florence, Kentucky

Directs the activities of the Machine Support group, ensuring production schedules are maintained and quality standards are adhered to.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership and Management Responsibilities

Recruitment and Retention:

  • Recruit, interview, and hire Process Engineers, Industrial Technicians, WAVE Technicians, and Machine Support Technicians.

  • Communicate candidate criteria to recruiters.

  • Coach department staff in the interviewing and hiring process.

  • Monitor team member turnover, identify key factors, and implement improvements.

Employee and Team Development:

  • Identify individual and team strengths and development needs on an ongoing basis.

  • Create and validate training curriculum within the area of responsibility.

  • Coach and mentor staff to deliver excellence to all customers.

  • Create and manage succession plans for the machine shop function.

Performance Management:

  • Establish clear, measurable goals and objectives to assess individual and team performance.

  • Solicit and provide ongoing feedback from peers, Workcell Managers (WCM), and Business Unit Managers (BUM).

  • Conduct professional and timely team member evaluations.

  • Drive continuous improvement in key operational metrics and organizational goals.

  • Coordinate activities of large teams, especially during crises.

  • Ensure fair and consistent management of recognition and rewards.

Communication:

  • Provide a forum for exchanging ideas and information within the department.

  • Organize and present ideas clearly in both verbal and written forms.

  • Encourage team member input and adapt communication styles accordingly.

Technical Management Responsibilities

  • Oversee the maintenance management program, including repair parts, preventative maintenance, feeder maintenance, and support equipment maintenance.

  • Plan the activities of the technical staff.

  • Develop and maintain all department reports and records.

  • Supervise the planning and execution of line moves and builds.

  • Schedule equipment vendors for installation, repair, and updates.

  • Ensure procedures and work instructions are efficient and not redundant.

  • Identify and implement best practices and processes.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to customer service by solving problems quickly and effectively.

  • Lead by example and adhere to safety and health regulations.

  • Utilize Jabil’s Advanced Engineering group for support.

  • Establish new measurement systems as needed.

  • Comply with company security policy procedures.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred.

  • Three years of experience in maintenance management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Hands-on experience and knowledge of Surface Mount Technologies (SMT) and Thru-hole equipment/gear.

  • Proficiency in process optimization, Statistical Process Control, Design for Manufacturability, Design for Test, Demand Flow Technology (line balancing), and Design of Experiment methodologies.

  • Knowledge of engineering disciplines including chemistry, mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineering as they pertain to surface mount and final assembly.
