Description
Our client, a dynamic and growing law firm, is seeking a motivated and skilled Associate Attorney to join the legal team in New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in defending clients in liability cases, including those involving products, personal injury, and property damage, and will be adept at managing all stages of litigation.
Role: Attorney
Location: Florham Park, New Jersey
Schedule: Hybrid (3 days in/2 days remote)
Salary: $134,000 - $200,000 (DOE)
Responsibilities:
Handle a caseload of general liability and product liability matters, including pre-litigation claims, depositions, motions, and trial preparation
Provide legal counsel to clients regarding risk management and exposure in relation to product liability and general liability issues.
Draft and review pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
Represent clients in depositions, hearings, mediations, and court trials.
Collaborate with internal teams, including claims adjusters and risk managers, to develop litigation strategies.
Conduct legal research and stay up to date on relevant case law, statutes, and regulatory changes impacting general and product liability.
Prepare and present legal arguments in court and during settlement negotiations.
Assist in the development and implementation of case management strategies, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of cases.
Maintain strong relationships with clients, providing regular updates and managing expectations.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior attorneys and legal staff as needed.
Requirements
Requirements:
J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the bar in NJ (or willing to waive into NJ).
4-10 years of experience in general liability, premises liability, or product liability law.
Proven track record of success in litigation, including significant experience in courtroom advocacy and handling complex cases.
Strong legal research and writing skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with e-discovery and case management software is a plus.
Knowledge of relevant state and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines in the areas of general liability and product liability.
