Insight Global Senior System Administrator in Folsom, California
Job Description
An employer is looking for a Senior level System Administrator to configure, administer and monitor the server environment comprised of 85% Windows and 15% Linux servers. The environment 98% virtualized on VMware ESXi with about 170 virtual machines. Responsibilities include tracking, evaluating and implementing security patches on production systems, deploying security operations technology, maintaining technical documentation such as internal processes and procedures, serving as an escalation point to customers, and participating in an on call rotation (once every 5 weeks). You will also assist the team with existing client work related to all aspects of cyber security services, with the potential to wear multiple hats. You are expected to act as a mentor to more junior team members, and there is potential for this role to grow into a leadership position in the future.

Skills and Requirements
5-10+ years of experience in systems administration supporting both Windows and Linux server environments ( the company is 85 % windows, 15% Linux)
Experience managing, administering and monitoring virtual infrastructure (VMware ESXi preferred)
Experience managing identity and access management systems such as Active Directory
Experience implementing security patches on production systems and evaluating, deploying and configuring security operations technology
Experience communicating and coordinating directly with customers and resolving escalated operational issues, remediating security risks, and developing new solutions and capabilities
Experience acting as a lead or mentor to junior system admins, or an interest in leadership
Ability to work in a collaborative and agile group, help enhance processes, wear multiple hats, and foster an owner's mindset Experience administering cloud infrastructure (Azure) as the company will be rolling into Azure soon null
