Custom Mold & Design, a Velosity Company is searching for a Quality Lab Supervisor to support our manufacturing facility in Forest Lake, MN. This role is responsible for leading and prioritizing inspection workload and optimizing inspection systems, deliverables and methods to ensure continual improvement. Works with New Product teams to support First Article Inspections, Capability Studies, and related inspection method development deliverables. This is a working supervisor position that will support all QA Labs at the Brooklyn Park facility. Direct Reports: Quality Tech, CMM Tech Reports to: Operations Manager This is an on-site position. Generous PTO offerings & 8 paid holidays annually Great opportunities for growth & advancement A family centric environment that hires and develops talent based on our values Casual Dress Code Essential Duties: Work cooperatively with all employees Lead and develop the quality inspectors Maintain and organize in-process inspection documentation Develop and/or adapt inspection equipment to meet quality standards Drive continual improvement in regard to procedures, work flow, process streamline, compliance to standards, and to ensure product quality Facilitate New Product inspection method development through the various QA Labs, providing support for Gage R&R appraisals, First Article Inspections, and Capability Studies Investigate and determine cause of quality issues and assist production and other personnel with the MRB and Corrective Action processes Provide opportunities and training for personal and professional development of the quality inspector team Complete performance reviews and provide timely and constructive performance feedback to the QA Lab team Other tasks as assigned by supervisor Qualifications: Preferred Associates or Bachelor's degree in Quality, or relevant experience Preferred 3 years of experience in quality, with a minimum of one year in plastic injection molding Excellent interpersonal, communication and project management skills; effective business correspondence and reporting; working knowledge of Microsoft Office and business operating systems; ability to lead, motivate, develop and manage employees Knowledge and understanding of contract manufacturing processes; knowledge of print reading, including GD&T; knowledge of inspection methods, measuring equipment, i.e. CMM's, Vision systems etc. and validation protocols. To be able to perform daily tasks safely; to work independently with limited supervision; To be able to solve practical problems and work effectively with customers, vendors and other departments; to manage multiple priorities; to manage and develop people. Work Conditions & Physical Demands: Walking and stair climbing is required within the office/shop areas. Sitting, standing, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, and fingers are physical requirements. Must have correctable eyesight and good depth perception. Must be able to walk, sit and occasionally climb and balance. Licensing/Registration/C rtification: Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States. We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform pre-employment substance abuse testing.
