Army Installation Management Command Army Community Service Specialist in Fort Carson, Colorado

Summary About the Position: This position is for an Army Community Service Specialist with the Installation Management Command (IMCOM), Directorate of Morale, Welfare and Recreation, Army Community Services Division located in Fort Carson, CO. Responsibilities Provide Army community services to include intake, information and referral, crisis intervention, life skills and transition services. Advise on career, transition, relocation, personal financial management, employment, community life, emergency/crisis assistance, personal and family readiness and all other related ACS services. Collect and maintain a variety of data to support program requirements ranging from client profiles to type of information and level of assistance provided, focusing on referrals and follow-ups to determine if services were provided. Consult with on and off site community leadership officials on Soldier and Family Readiness services and related issues. Serve as a unit service coordinator, providing services to a designated military unit, as the initial point of contact for all ACS services. Basic Requirement for 0101 series: BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Successful completion of a bachelor's or higher degree that included a major field of study in behavioral or social science or related disciplines appropriate to the position. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts) OR A combination of education and experience that provided knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts) OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In addition to meeting the above basic education requirements, applicants must also meet specialized experience: one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes documented experience to 1). Assisting with individual and family consultation services, education, referrals and follow-up. 2). Provide appropriate information to clients regarding community service programs. 3). Utilize various office automation software. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as behavioral or social science. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
