POSITION SUMMARY:

Engineering Planners manage New Product Introduction (NPI) scheduling and release processes required to successfully design, build, and transfer new products from AE’s global design centers into manufacturing. Collaborate with development teams to ensure all NPI deliverables are met. Function as a liaison between R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Quality to coordinate product schedules.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plans, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors final approval of products through the complete Product Development Process (PDP)

  • Coordinates production plans for new products ensuring availability of material to meet project schedules

  • Manages on-time-delivery goals of products by committed ship date

  • Works to resolve capacity, material constraints and other potential schedule interruptions

  • Approves unit quantities, schedules and parts lists provided to the material control organization to ensure timely and complete ordering, as well as receipt and issuance of production material requirements

  • Manages and implements NPI Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)

  • Coordinates with engineering to create and maintain Bill of Material (BOMs) in SAP

  • Manages the release of parts, modules, and/or units to appropriate department in production

  • Creates and maintains work orders, purchase requests and internal transfer orders

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Works in a high-pressure environment under limited supervision

  • Works in a standard office environment and uses general office equipment

  • Must be able to navigate through the production and engineering environment, following the processes and procedures dictated in manufacturing and engineering

  • Primarily works in an engineering environment which may be noisy and fast-paced

  • The product being produced might have high voltage and current conditions; appropriate precautions must be observed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to present ideas in a clear and persuasive manner, both orally and in writing

  • Capability to respond quickly, decisively, assertively, and professionally to changing requirements in demand, product design and program objectives

  • Excellent judgment and initiative, including the ability to effectively balance multiple priorities

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills must be superior. Multicultural experience is a plus

  • Demonstrated MS Office skills, Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Microsoft Project Schedule management desired

EXPERIENCE:

  • 1-3 years in Purchasing/Planning environment

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing planning/scheduling and the processes associated with MRP/ERP

  • Proven track record of success and growth in positions of increasing responsibility

  • Previous experience with SAP desired or preferred

  • Experience working in a team and group setting with upper-level managers

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Operations Management, Finance, Materials Management, Supply Chain, or equivalent education and/or experience

  • Prefer American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) or CPM certification or other international certification

COMPENSATION:

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $65,000 to $85,000 per year.
