$25 - $30 per hour

Position Description:

The millwright Foreman position is responsible for installation, maintenance, dismantling, reassembling, and repair of mechanical equipment, conveyance piping systems, gantry cranes, monorail hoists and other types of hoisting machines or devices and associated support work, and associated components. This includes but is not limited to the alignment, supporting, anchoring, and movement of materials. Millwrights for this position specialize in conveyance piping systems and machinery relating to water and wastewater treatment. Millwrights are skilled craftsperson’s who utilize diverse rigging techniques and lifting equipment to install equipment accurately and safely to the necessary specifications. Millwrights are problem solvers that rely on technical expertise and teamwork through effective communication. This is a safety sensitive position.

Position Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Valid Driver’s License.

  • 1+ years’ experience troubleshooting and maintenance of general mechanical systems.

  • 1+ years’ experience using hand and power tools.

  • Able to read and interpret construction layout, blueprints, and technical instructions.

  • Follow safe work practices in accordance with the Hensel Phelps safety and health program.

  • Must be able to take initiative

  • Possess a keen attention to detail and be able to follow instructions.

  • Workers must provide their own hard soled work boots.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers and stakeholders.

  • Strong mathematical reasoning and quantitative skills.

  • Must be reliable and punctual.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • OSHA 10 Certification.

  • CPR & First Aid Certification.

  • Rigging and Signal Certification

  • Confined space Certification

  • Welding Certification

Essential Duties:

  • Ensure equipment is maintained according to client and manufacturer standards.

  • Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully understand project requirements.

  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and rebuilding of production machinery and piping systems.

  • Effectively operate hand and power tools to assist with equipment installation and maintenance.

  • Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, and tools. Ensuring that all materials are properly utilized, and the site is well maintained.

  • Identification of issues relating to the work being performed and notifying the foreman or supervisor. Conscious of safety and produces quality work.

  • Familiarity of common building materials, tools, and building practices.

  • Able to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of equipment and conveyance piping systems.

  • Skilled in intermediate/rough carpentry.

  • Familiar with variety of common metals (aluminum, stainless steel, FRP, etc.), pipe materials (PVC, ductile, etc.), and pipe fittings.

  • Familiar with welding and/or mechanically assemble systems with these various types of materials.

  • Aptitude for rigging and movement of building components and piping.

  • Able to perform basic layout and produce an accurate material take off.

  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and sketches. Able to read a tape measure.

  • Able to effectively communicate and work as part of a team.

  • Identify, prevent, and correct workplace hazards safely and effectively. Participation of toolbox talks, communication of hazard identification, and hazard mitigation.

  • Keep an organized and clean work area.

  • Able to work off ladders, lifts, scaffolding, and inside confined spaces.

  • Able to work alongside the elements of weather.

  • Proficiency in basic math and geometry.

  • Promote a safe work environment and communicates jobsite hazards. This includes helping to secure the jobsite at the end of business each day and verifying that all site materials are properly stored.
