Description of Work Unit

Founded in 1870, Colorado State University is among the nation’s leading research universities and enrolls approximately 32,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. Located an hour north of the Denver metro area, Fort Collins is a vibrant community of approximately 157,000 residents that offers the convenience of a small town with all the amenities of a large city. Fort Collins is situated on the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains with views of 14,000 foot peaks, and offers access to numerous cultural, recreational, and outdoor opportunities.

The department currently comprises 20 faculty and over 100 graduate students in our MS, MAS , and PhD graduate programs, and has a network of faculty affiliates at nearby research agencies (National Center for Atmospheric Research, National Institute of Standards and Technology, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, among others). Our faculty members have a wide range of expertise and are involved in various interdisciplinary graduate training and research activities. Internal and external consulting activities of the department are supported through the Graybill Statistics and Data Science Laboratory. Position Summary

The Department of Statistics at Colorado State University invites applications for two Administrative Professional Research Associate positions in the Graybill Statistics & Data Science Laboratory within the Department of Statistics. The “Stat Lab” collaborates and consults with researchers from across the university (eight colleges). These positions will include in-person consulting, collaboration and data analysis. These are 1 year, 12-month positions with the possibility of renewal based on funding and performance. More information about the Stat Lab is available athttps://statlab.colostate.edu/. Required Job Qualifications

Research Associate II Requirements:

  • M.S. in statistics, biostatistics, data science, or a closely related discipline

Research Associate III Requirements:

  • M.S. in statistics, biostatistics, data science, or a closely related discipline plus at least 2 years of experience.

OR

  • Ph.D. in statistics, biostatistics, data science, or a closely related discipline

Preferred Job Qualifications

  • Experience performing data analysis and/or providing statistical consulting across a variety of methods and subject areas.
