PROGRAM SUMMARY

The MISS program is a comprehensive initiative aimed at supporting the U.S. Department of State’s operations in Iraq. In addition to providing ongoing base operations and Life Support Services, KBR will provide differentiated advisory and consultancy capabilities to the Iraqi Government with a focus on creating an effective program environment to support delivery of strategic economic planning, strategy development, feasibility studies, technical reviews and large-scale project management. Under this contract KBR will provide facility maintenance, procurement, critical supply functions, along with food services, base camp operations, renovations, construction, and medical services.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Electrical Supervisor will serve the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Plus task order in support of the U.S. Department of State (DOS). The Electrical Supervisor will be responsible for taking ownership of all facility electrical projects, to include maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation and related O&M electrical projects. The duties and responsibilities listed are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.

Please note: This position is located in Baghdad, Iraq and is contingent on award.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead an international team of electricians in electrical upgrades and maintenance at the BEC.

  • Maintain KBR’s Zero Harm Initiative, ensuring a safe workplace and that safety is the highest priority.

  • Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.

  • Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals. Provide information and materials to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.

  • Main task will be to ensure the entire 11Kv power grid and its associated equipment is operating correctly. This involves regular PM work on all transformer stations that include, cleaning transformers, oil sampling, taking temperature and pressure readings, ordering materials, replacing/ repairing nonfunctioning electronics and UPS systems, thermal imaging, etcetera.

  • Perform work required for the repair, maintenance, installation and modernization of electrical systems for site building’s equipment.

  • Locate and determine electrical malfunctions using testing equipment.

  • Repair malfunctions by such methods as replacing burned out elements, fuses and replacing defective wiring, cleaning, repairing or replacing motors.

  • Test electrical equipment such as motors, heaters and controls for safety and efficiency, using standard testing equipment and by observing functions.

  • Install fixtures, wiring conduits, motors and other electrical equipment.

  • Inspect circuits for specified shielding and grounding.

  • Report any malfunctions or lack of compliance with the SOW to the Assistant Operations Manager.

  • Perform inspections and prepare written reports.

  • Maintain effective, timely and respectful communication and interaction with other employees and manager, and support other organizations.

  • Perform administrative tasks when directed, including material ordering, inventory, work scheduling and report preparation.

  • Responsible for facility custodianship of work area and management of tools, equipment and spare parts for the electrical operation.

  • Take initiative to analyze a situation and make frequent technical decisions based on specifications, safety and electrical codes.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Completion of a four or five year Electrical Apprenticeship Program.

  • Five (5) years’ electrical experience in operations and maintenance services.

  • Three (3) years’ experience in an international environment.

  • Experience working with SOW, electrical diagrams and blueprints.

  • Previous supervisory experience.

  • US Citizen

  • US Passport with minimum one plus year validity remaining.

  • Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

  • Must currently possess a U.S. Government (USG) issued Secret security clearance and/or a favorable USG Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) certification prior to being hired is required for the position.

  • Must maintain eligibility at the required clearance or certification level for the duration of the task order.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of applicable U.S. codes and acceptable trade practices.

  • Previous electrical experience in an international environment with a multi-national workforce.

  • Knowledge and experience regarding occupational hazards of the electrical trade, related safety precautions and considerable skill required for the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment.

  • Must have good organizational and communication skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions.

  • Knowledge of principles and processes involved in supporting contract responsibilities at an overseas facility.

  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills are required.

  • Must have proficiency with the MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).

  • Requires excellent English communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to facilitate and disseminate information.

  • Must be able to crouch, bend, reach and crawl in all weather conditions.

  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds on a regular basis.

  • Must be willing to work in austere conditions.
