Army Installation Management Command Child and Youth Program Assistant (Target Level 4 MVO) CY-02 in Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia

Summary This position is located at Fort Gregg- Adams. This announcement may be used to fill additional vacancies throughout the program. Management has the right to assign staff to locations as mission requires. This position is eligible for the NAF benefits package and leave accrual. Responsibilities Serves as a Child and Youth Program Assistant in a Child and Youth Services program and maintains control of and accounts for whereabouts and safety of children and youth. Reviews, provides input to, and implements schedules and activity plans. Demonstrates, instructs, leads, and facilitates planned and spontaneous program activities. Sets up displays and bulletin boards. Plans, coordinates, and conducts activities that meet the physical, social, emotional and cognitive needs for program participants based on the group and individual children and youth. Helps prepare, arrange, and maintain indoor and outdoor activity areas and materials to accommodate daily schedules and provides program options for children with special requirements. Supervises children and youth during daily schedule of indoor and outdoor activities and on field trips, outings, and special events. Promotes and models safety, fitness, health, and nutrition practices. All other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications All applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED certificate and be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. In addition, candidate must: Possess 18 months of experience working in a group program with children or youth, plus Army or other military service Foundation Level Training as evidenced by service-issued Certificate of Completion. OR Possess 18 months of experience working in a group program with children or youth, plus an associate's degree or least 60 semester hours of college credit which included a major course of study (24 semester hours) with content directly related to the age group to which assigned, for example: Youth Services: Youth Development, Secondary Education, Human Development, Youth Program Administration, Recreation, Physical Education, or directly-related behavioral or cultural science (developmental psychology, child psychology/sociology, sociology of the family, gender identity, parenting. General psychology/sociology coursework is not qualifying). OR Possess one of the following: 1. A bachelor's degree or at least 120 semester hours which included a major course of study (24 semester hours) with content as indicated above. 2. Possess and maintain one of the following directly related to the age group of the position to which assigned: Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential, Military School Age Credential, Army Youth Practicum, or other nationally recognized Youth Development Credential. PCS Costs Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.
