Aerotek Satellite Transmission Technician in Fort Hood, Texas
Description:
GDIT is currently supporting a project on Fort Hood and needs a Satellite Transmission Systems Technician. This will involve using putty to telnet into routers and switches, diagnose problems, and dis-assemble systems as needed. Must have a current and active Secret clearance.
This project will primarily involve the testing, harvesting and/or dis-assembly of internal networking components and equipment. This could involve lifting of up to 50 pounds on occasion.
EXPERIENCE: 2+ years of experience working on routers & switches or very similar electronics on Satellite Transmission Systems Experience using hand tools to assemble / dis-assemble Must have current and active Secret clearance

MUST HAVE: HS or equivalent + minimum of 2 yrs recent related experience Understand how to follow signal pass Familiar with Cisco switches, routing/switching protocols Experience using putty Must have current and active Secret clearance Experience working on Satellite, Humvee or Command Post equipment (STT, JNN or CPN equipment)
BEST vs. AVG: Knowledge of various types of networking equipment desired
All must have experience with routers & switches, and the ability to work autonomously/self-sufficient when supporting this equipment
These are the systems that will work: • 185 Lot 10 (ink 1 system) • 167 Lot 9 (ink 1 system) • 208 would be OK (Ink 2 systems) • LRUYs good
MOSs that would work: • GDIT’s is a trailer-based satellite transmission system • 25Quebec, 25Uniform, 25Sierra • Quebecs and Sierras are transmission systems • They've now combined them into 25 Hotel
