U.S. Army Reserve Command Budget Analyst in Fort Knox, Kentucky
Summary About the Position: This position is with the Army Reserve Aviation Command (ARAC), 11th Mission Support Element (MSE), located at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Responsibilities Oversee execution for subordinate commands to ensure proper fund controls. Ensure available funding is distributed in accordance with established priorities. Interpret budget directives and fiscal regulations. Review budget requirements in order to coordinate and control estimates for command programs. Manage resources and forecast budgetary trends and activities. Review operating programs and budgets to determine compliance and validity of requirements. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which work that involves detailed understanding of procedures and requirements to formulate, edit, consolidate, and justify budget estimates, and adjust data in related forms and schedules to execute the command's budget; work with various appropriations, ensure that command programs are financed correctly; and organizing and analyzing financial data to develop recommendations concerning budget estimates and allocation of resources. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Budget Execution Budget Formulation, Justification, and Presentation Financial Management Analysis Financial Management Systems Writing Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
