General Purpose of the Position: The Social Media, Community Engagement and Marketing Manager is responsible for representing CareerSource Broward (CSBD) at Community Events, interfacing with elected officials and board members from time totime, andis able to develop and design marketing and outreach strategies to influence and encourage jobseekers and employers to seek out CSBD and our service providers' services. The incumbent is responsible for analyzing engagement data to identify trends in customer interactions, evaluate the effectiveness of the marketing and outreach strategies, and makes recommendations to improve digital campaigns to build community online. The incumbent is responsible for promoting a positive image to the public and have experience using photography equipment (supplied by CSBD) to record events. The incumbent will be expected to post CSBD happenings such as job fairs, recruitment events, grant awards etc. on social media platforms before or simultaneous with the events, be able to craft a press release, monitor websites to assure the CSBD image is positive. The incumbent must have knowledge of South Florida with an emphasis on Broward County, Broward County Government, EconomicDevelopment,and the social service network. The incumbent must have excellent command of the Englishlanguage andbe able to communicate verbally and in written form. Position requires in-person interactions with customers. Work is performed onsite at a physical location of CSBD.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist the Senior Vice President of Communications with designing media relations programs; writing effective press releases; creating media kits; and maintaining the organization's Internet and Intranet web pages.
  • Assist department staff in monitoring the organization's social media websites, including providing updates to the social media websites and analyzing responses and communications on the organization's social media websites.
  • Assist with planning and developing social media campaigns and compelling content.
  • Assist with or lead the development of marketing literature, ensuring valid,current,and accurate content, plan and develop the concepts and the execution of print and media campaigns through the Communications department.
  • Contribute content to leadership messages, talking points, articles, web pages,PowerPoints,and other written media.
  • Coordinate CSBD-wide event participation, scheduling, preparation, logging/tracking, and reporting.
  • Coordinate CSBD social media content creation/posting/monitoring and reporting across all channels.
  • Ensure that articles mentioningCSBD,and all promotional literature are provided to CSBD's Senior Vice President of Communications prior to publication and include success stories of the companies working with the company.
  • Coordinate and participate in employer awareness and community activities which heighten the awareness of CSBD's programs. Coordinates events including meetings, speaking engagements, seminars, trade shows and exhibits.
  • Represent CSBD at community events, presenting an overview of our services and distributing workforce materials.
  • Provide outreach to identify and provide CSBD representation to conduct seminars for companies interested in learning about the services and the benefits of working wi h the agency.
  • Create and edit videos and reels as needed.
  • Assist CSBD's Rapid Response Coordinator with rapid response activities to local employers in the process of laying workers off.
  • Organize and participate in promotional activities such as job fairs and business expos to promote products and services that are available through the Career Centers.Assemble, arrange, and evaluate promotional displays.
  • Prepare written documentation for business projects and/or bid proposals. Arrange delivery schedules and estimate delivery dates.
  • Attend meetings representing CSBD with outside organizations and agencies. Attend agency meetings as required.
  • Refer the general public to the appropriate CSBD programs. Identify employers interested in working with CSBD to fill job positions. Obtain job orders to help in the placement of personnel.
  • Conduct research and analysis on marketing/job development activities and running campaigns. Document and maintain records, reports and files of potential customers and their workforce needs.
  • Establish and manage effective relationships and outreach efforts with different trade and industry organizations/associations. Monitor progress in developing lasting relationships between CSBD and customers to assure customer satisfaction.
  • Synthesize complex or diverse information, collect and research data, use intuition and experience to complement data, designsworkflowsand procedures.
  • Identify customer issues and conflicts and recommend solutions as needed.
  • Develop and coordinate project plans, communicate changes and progress, complete projects on time and budget.
  • Prepare and analyze a variety of monthly,quarterly,and annual reports as needed to report progress towards goals.
  • Communicate with coworkers, management, staff, clients, the general public, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Respond to inquiries from a wide variety of individuals, groups, organizations, and governmental entities. Respond promptly when returning telephone calls and replying to correspondence, emails, and faxes.
  • Stay current on the latest social media trends industry developments, algorithm changes, and emerging platforms to adapt strategies accordingly and maintain relevance.
  • Keep abreast of all federal and state policies and regulations regarding relevant workforce development legislation and programs.
  • May be assigned other responsibilities on a temporary or ongoing basis as necessary for the delivery of quality service by CSBD.

Supervisory Controls and Guidelines:

The incumbent reports directly to the Senior VP of Communications.

The incumbent's primary duty of performing office or non-manual work is directly related to management or general business operations of CSBD or CSBD's customers/providers. Incumbent must exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.

Work is performed independently within broad general guidelines such as federal, state, and local workforce development guidelines and regulations as well as CSBD's policies and procedures.

Guidelines used include state, federal regulations, CSBD's personnel rules, policies, and procedures, labor laws, technical assistance guides, and research. Current legislation includes or is relatedto:the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, Welfare Transition Program, Wagner Peyser, or other workforce development programs, as well as federal, state, and local business and tax incentives.
