Summary

Works cross-functionally as a senior project engineer, taking on varying assignments including: Building or starting up new assets or products to deliver the defined success criteria. and i mproving throughput, quality, safety, operational costs, and risk and meeting regulatory requirements.

What You Will Do:

  • Reviews or creates project proposals or plans that outline business benefit, time frame, funding requirement, staffing needs, allotment of available resources, and critical requirements to accomplish goals for various phases of a project.

  • Prepares project-phase plans of small to intermediate sized projects and implementation schedules, directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget, and evaluates results.

  • Leads multiple small projects or sub-systems of larger, more complex initiatives, leveraging internal and external resources to reach a goal.

  • Understands the interaction of scope, schedule and budget. Applies timelines and tools to deliver the project on schedule. Aligns with leadership on a course forward when a change to one impacts the other areas.

  • Takes an approved charter and develops scopes of work for each vendor with SME support. Facilitates a scope development through 3P process.

  • Develops a budget for a simple system that meets project goals. Familiar with project budget, yet-to-spend, estimate at completion, and associated cost risks. Meets project budget goals.

  • Reads and understands contracts. Determines deliverables required of the vendor and company. Translates contract language to a project deliverable.

  • Develops a simple schedule impacting multiple groups, areas, vendors and needs, ensuring those impacted are enlisted. Drives a project to meet the schedule, and adjusts schedule based on new information. Able to get buy-in from supervisor. Understands critical path tasks.

  • Translates a project plan to an install, ensuring project goals are met safely.

  • Develops a start-up plan for a moderately complex system, translating the overall project goals into discrete category goals and daily goals. Ensures monthly, weekly, and daily goals are met and has contingency plans in place for ahead/ behind conditions.

  • Coordinates project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies for low to medium risk projects.

  • Executes a communication plan developed with their supervisor. Facilitates core teams for key project input.

  • Functions as a liaison with customers, other departments and organizations to insure functional specifications are met.

  • Prepares and delivers succinct and pertinent presentations to department leaders.

  • Effectively presents ideas verbally.

  • Maintains an understanding on how project decisions impact site goals.

  • Provides department leaders with recommendations on complex operational issues.

  • Develops recommendations to change systems, policies, standards and procedures.

  • Participates in department and cross-functional planning sessions and updates across the organization.

  • Reviews proposals from outside vendors and makes recommendations.

  • Demonstrates ability to read and understand plans and drawings.

  • Leads or supports cross-functional teams in the building or improving of processes, capital assets or the commercialization of new products.

  • Functions as liaison with customers and other departments to insure functional specifications are met.

  • Communicates project status and makes recommendations to eliminate roadblocks to success.

  • Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental, safety and regulatory considerations as it applies to the task at hand. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.

  • Ensures GMP, safety and quality for all proposed modifications.

  • Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.

    What You Will Need:

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering plus 5 years of Engineering, Project Engineering, Project Management, Commercial or Industrial Architecture, Commercial or Industrial Construction Management experience, reflecting increasing levels of responsibility, which may include Gallo TMDP or OMDP experience; OR

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering plus 7 years of Engineering, Project Engineering, Project Management, Commercial or Industrial Architecture, Commercial or Industrial Construction Management experience, reflecting increasing levels of responsibility, which may include Gallo TMDP or OMDP experience; OR

  • Bachelor of Science Degree plus 9 years of Engineering, Project Engineering, Project Management, Commercial or Industrial Architecture, Commercial or Industrial Construction Management experience, reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR

  • High School Diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 11 years of Engineering, Project Engineering, Project Management, Commercial or Industrial Architecture, Commercial or Industrial Construction Management experience, reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.

  • Understands Basic Engineering and can follow standard work to achieve goals.

  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

    What Will Set You Apart:

  • BS in Engineering Management, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Bio-Systems Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or Civil Engineering, plus 7 years managing projects.

  • Commercial or Industrial Construction Management experience, including management of construction and start-up, budgets, schedules, procurement, and status reporting.

  • Commercial or Industrial Architectural Design experience, including drafting and code analysis.

  • Commercial Building/Facilities & Tenant Improvement project management experience.

  • Registered or licensed Architect.

  • Experience leading teams and driving improvement.

  • Experience with CAD.

  • L6S Certification (Black Belt/ Green Belt)

  • Presentation Skills

  • Technical Writing Skills

  • Technical Evaluation Skills

  • Strong Enlisting and Engaging Skills

  • Demonstrated expertise with seven or more years of experience in or more of the following areas:

  • CPG Manufacturing Systems (Filling, Labeling, Packaging, etc.)

  • Winery Manufacturing Systems (Fermentation, Piping, Filtration, etc.)

  • Utility Systems (Power & Distribution, Steam, Water, Waste, etc.)

  • Data Systems (SQL, Trending, Reporting, Visualization)

  • Control Systems (Rockwell, SCADA, PLC, Instrumentation)

  • Project Management

  • Glass Manufacturing Systems

  • R&D stagegate process (carrying out lab-pilot-production trials, and scale-up projects related to new processes/products)

  • Wine/Spirits/beverages knowledge (Fermentation Science, Separations, winery processes, wine chemistry, new product development/innovation, food safety, HAACP).

  • Agricultural Equipment and Infrastructure Systems (Irrigation, site grading, drainage, etc.)

Compensation:

  • Hiring Salary Range Posted: $118,600.00- $178,000.00.

  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
