About the Position: Serves as Administrative Officer within the 419th Contracting Support Brigade (CSB), Fort Liberty, NC. The Administrative Officer is responsible for performing, providing, obtaining, and/or advising on a variety of management programs/services essential to the direction and efficient operation of the 419th CSB. Responsibilities Performs administrative functions that include planning, coordinating and managing a variety of management programs. Advise senior level management on matters pertaining to laws, regulations, policies and/or procedures to assist in program management. Prepare short- and long-range staffing plans to forecast civilian personnel mission requirements. Analyze program objectives to provide management with recommendations for ensuring optimum utilization of available resources. Advise management on recruitment strategies, sources and special programs to hire new personnel. Evaluate the effectiveness of organization's administrative program/operations to meet established goals as well as objectives. Utilizes automated systems to submit and store personnel information to be used in statistical reports for tracking purposes. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes: (1) Performing administrative functions that include planning, coordinating and managing a variety of management programs; (2) Analyzing administrative / management processes for effectiveness/efficiency to make recommendations on process improvements; AND (3) Utilizing automated systems to submit and store personnel information to be used in statistical reports for tracking purposes. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Business Management or Public Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
