Belay Technologies Mid Software Engineer (Reverse Engineer) in Fort Meade, Maryland

Belay Technologies is seeking a Mid-level Software Engineer (SWE) to join our intel team. You will act as a reverse engineer/general-purpose CNO software engineer for up-and-coming projects where you will design, develop, prototype, modify, and integrate solutions to provide mission-centric results. You will work closely with analysts, operators, data scientists and other software engineers to provide mission tactical support.  

Candidates should have the following qualifications:  

  • TS/SCI with polygraph is required.  

  • Eight (8) years’ experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. 

  • Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

    Candidates are required to have the following skills:

  • Responsibilities:

  • Augment existing toolsets.

  • Derive, document, and analyze requirements. 

  • Build prototypes to demonstrate an understanding of mission requirements.

  • Produce end toolsets that can operate within mission constraints.

  • Skills Requirements:

  • Experience with developing CNO specific software in Linux/Windows/Embedded applications.

  • Produce and modify software systems in C/C++/Python.

  • Provide support for fielded software systems.

  • Familiarity with Git and Subversion.

  • Atlassian Tools (Jira, Confluence).

  • Reverse engineering experience.  

  • Experience developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements.

  • Experience working individually or as part of a team to review and test software components for adherence to the design requirements and document test results and resolve software problem reports. 

  • Experience utilizing software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.

  • Experience providing specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.

  • Experience analyzing user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.

  • Experience designing and coding new software or modifying existing software to add new features.

  • Ability to debug existing software and correct defects.

  • Experience integrating existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.

  • Experience developing simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories.

  • Experience providing recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards.

  • Experience developing or implementing algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards.

  • Ability to assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components.

  • Experience writing or reviewing software and system documentation.

  • Experience serving as team lead at the level appropriate to the software development process being used on any particular project.

  • Experience developing software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, confer with users or system engineers; analyze systems flow, data usage and work processes; and investigate problem areas.

  • Experience overseeing one or more software development teams and ensure the work is completed in accordance with the constraints of the software development process being used on any particular project.

  • Experience modifying existing software to correct errors, to adapt to new hardware, or improve its performance.

  • Ability to design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.

  • Experience designing or implementing complex database or data repository interfaces/queries.

  • Experience designing or implementing complex algorithms requiring adherence to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints; Perform quality control on team products.

  • Experience conferring with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.

  • Experience coordinating software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure operational specifications are met.

  • Experience implementing recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards.

    Candidates are desired to have the following skills:

  • Experience with any of the following: Java, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell, Perl, C#, Rust.

  • Experience with Reverse Engineering. 

  • Experience with Vulnerability Research and Exploit development.

  • Knowledge of end-to-end SIGINT collection and analysis systems.

  • Experience with production CNO capabilities and operations
