Summary About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the ST-IC-W0JAAA US ARMY COUNTERINTELLIGENCE COMMAND serving as a Security Guard. Responsibilities Performs Security Guard duties related to protecting Federal Property and National Defense Classified information by preventing unauthorized access to facilities, materials, and information, applying stringent security measures and procedures. Serves as Lead Security Guard distributes and balances workload among employees in accordance with established work flow or job specialization, assures timely accomplishment of the assigned workload, and assures that each employee has enough work. Amends or rejects work not meeting established standards, refers to supervisor questions or matters not covered by standards and problems in meeting performance standards. Estimates and reports on expected time of completion of work, and maintains records of work accomplishments and time expended and prepares accurate, comprehensive reports and documentation as requested. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience which includes experience managing and operating firearms while ensuring accountability for all firearms and ammunition; driving a government owned vehicle to respond to emergency situations; i.e. active shooter; maintaining reports of work activities (logs); AND providing one on one assistance to multiple personnel requesting access to the facility.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-06). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Access Control Operations Incident Response Physical Security Security Equipment Operation Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information This position has been identified as being a Key Position under the provisions of AR 690-11, Use and Management of Civilian Personnel in Support of Military Contingency Operations. A Key position is defined as any Army position that cannot be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of their organization to function effectively. Because of the essential nature of these positions, the Secretary of the Army, or his/her designee, shall designate such positions as Key positions and shall require that they not be filled by Ready Reservists or military retirees with recall obligations. Prior to occupying the position, Civilians must be exempted from recall to active duty because of Reserve or retired military obligations. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. This is a Physical Security and Law Enforcement career field. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.
