Currently, we are looking for an Intern, Engineering - Yield to join the ArcBest team. The Intern, Engineering - Yield participates in an internship within the Pricing, Strategy or Costing departments within ArcBest Yield learning to: 1) analyze supply chain solution opportunities to meet customer logistics needs while using and interpreting all relevant cost, market, and value-added information; 2) provide internal management consulting for ArcBest leaders that deepens understanding of profitability drivers; or, 3) provide analytical support for new and existing business opportunities while developing innovative tools and processes to advance strategic yield initiatives - respectively.
Your contribution may include:
Understand various ArcBest business units/services and their respective pricing structure and objectives.
Determine cost projections and/or potential efficiency improvements on both new and existing business opportunities.
Conduct business and financial analysis.
Complete operational modeling, performance measurement, market research.
Provide timely, accurate and actionable data and analysis to decision makers at all levels.
Communicate on a daily basis with ArcBest’s nationwide sales teams regarding the interpretation, negotiation, and administration of pricing arrangements.
Identify and evaluate profit and yield improvement opportunities.
Maintain a positive attitude while driving desired results.
Work in a team setting to accomplish corporate, departmental and individual goals.
Other duties and projects, as assigned.
As an Intern, Engineering - Yield, you will be a member of the ArcBest Yield team in Fort Smith, AR. Part time internship positions starting in May through the summer will average 40 hours per week. Typical hours will fall between 8:00 am - 5:00 pm during the summer months. For internships that continue year-round, hours will average fewer than 30 hours per week between 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with occasional irregular hours depending on workload.

Education
- Pursuing Bachelor's Degree in in a technical field, such as Industrial Engineering or Mathematics, required.
Computer Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and a programming language such as VBA, R, Python, or SQL.
