Army Installation Management Command Sports Assistant NF-02 in Fort Wainwright, Alaska

Summary This position is located at FMWR Sports & Fitness on Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Up to 25% recruitment and/or retention incentive may be authorized for positions offering at least a guarantee of 10 hours per week. Responsibilities Supports activities and services of the athletics and intramural sports program. Provides oversight of events and tournaments. Maintains cleanliness and organization of athletic facilities. Ensures adherence to regulations and safety procedures. Monitors condition of, cleans, and performs minor maintenance on athletics equipment. Assists in setting up for special events and sports tournaments. Assistants with publicity of events and tournaments and assists with the delivery and placement of posters, flyers, and other promotional material. Provides outstanding customer service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of the position Must be able to obtain a nationally recognized certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED. Highly Preferred: Candidates that possess highly preferred criteria and meet the minimum qualifications above will be referred to the hiring manager first. Criteria is verified within the application package. One year of full-time work experience in the sports and fitness industry. Current nationally recognized certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED. Education Additional Information Area of Consideration: The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is defined as the Fort Wainwright commuting area. (Commuting area is defined as Fort Wainwright and surrounding communities within 150 miles of the installation.) Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. Up to 25% recruitment and/or retention incentive may be authorized for positions offering at least a guarantee of 10 hours per week. Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
