A day in the life of an Operations Leader in the Engine Systems Circuit Card Assembly team consists of executing day to day operations by leading our hourly workforce and being available to be the first level of elevation for the team. Our Operations Leaders are 100% responsible for product flow in order to meet and exceed both our internal and external customer s needs. An ideal leader will know how to bring out the best in our employees while helping navigate through difficult times. It s a critical need of this position to not only own the responsibility but take pride in being a People Manager in order best capitalize on the untapped potential of our team members. This will put both the team and business in the best position to be successful.

The Operations Leaders are responsible for ensuring that all employees are working safely, delivering high quality product to our customers, and challenging the team to continue to help them grow individually and as a team. Mentoring and coaching is a must for this role as it s important for every team member to understand the why and be able to see the larger picture, strategy, and vision. The Operations Leader role requires strong communication skills as this position will not only provide work direction to the team, but also provides shift hand-offs with other Operation Leaders, status/commits to Customers, Program Managers, Product Center Leaders, and more.

Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Operational Leadership, Engineering and 2-6 years of related work experience or an Associate's degree and 4-8 years of related work experience.

  • Experience in production/manufacturing/operations or similar environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team with difficult and demanding customer expectations.

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal).

  • People management and interpersonal skills; uses good judgement in resolving conflict.

  • Ability to lead in a team-based manufacturing environment and make decisions with minimal supervision.

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Tools.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Experience utilizing lean manufacturing concepts with a proven track record of lean/six sigma implementation.

  • Previous experience supervising employees.

  • Experience utilizing business systems and tools that aid in managing labor, processes, and budgets.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $61830 - $105120

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
