POSITION OVERVIEW:
Machinist operate a computer numerical control (CNC) machine while upholding quality and safety standards; keeping records; and maintaining equipment and supplies.
We provide all necessary tools and train our machinists to be set-up experts that are responsible for changing over and editing programs and loading their own tooling in a job shop environment. Our machinist belong to a global award winning team because they complete all necessary documentation and quality checks to ensure our customer's needs are met. Our facility is clean, climate controlled, and a virtually coolant free environment where safety is our 1st pillar of excellence.
JOB DUTIES:
- Operate CNC (computer numerical controlled) machinery to fabricate PTFE parts.
- Read and understand blueprints.
- Use measuring equipment such as scales, micrometers, PI tapes, optical comparators, and calipers.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions.
- Complete like part changeovers and minor setups with minimal assistance.
- Maintain exceptional standards of quality and performance for Machinist.
- Quality: Defined as having not more than 4 active performance guideline write-ups of any type (i.e. note-to-file, written warning).
- Performance: Will not have output that is more than 10% below the average attainment of all the operators of the same assigned area
RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
- Perform daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery.
- 2^nd^ Operation machining.
- Counting and kitting of components for shipment.
- Operate manual lathe and drill press as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Internal candidates:
- 1 year seniority with the company
- External candidates:
- Qualify in one of the following:
- 5 years of experience in machining and a certification in one of the following: Machining, CNC machining, Machine Technology or completion of a relevant program
- OR
- 7 years of experience in machining.
- Qualify in one of the following:
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBIITY QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be able to progress to a LG6 Machinist in no less than 12 or no more than 24 months.
