job summary:

CNC machininist/operator needed for a client in the Fort Wayne area.3rd shift role. This individual maintains CNC equipment and responsible for programing and set up of Haas 3-axis & 5-axis CNC machines. Typical machined materials include aluminum and steel parts, and production tooling components for the automotive industry. Must also have experience with Mastercam. Salary will be based on experience.

  • Associates degree from a technical university or equivalent years' of experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience on 3D cad/cam system

  • Minimum 5 years knowledge of metal cutting and machining process

  • strong problem-solving techniques & communication skills

  • Production tooling experience an asset

  • Ability to read & interpret blue prints

  • Experience with Mastercam

location: FORT WAYNE, Indiana

work hours: 12am to 9am

responsibilities:

  • Programming CNC code from provided CAD data utilizing Mastercam X software

  • Setting up appropriate machining tools, offsets and materials as required

  • Operating CNC machines and verifying finished components as required

  • Operate other toolroom equipment as needed, i.e., manual mill, manual lathe, surface grinder, overhead crane, saw, etc.

  • Interacting with Design Engineers/Project Leaders/Toolmakers/Apprentices to develop manufacturable components with an eye for product improvement and potential build issues

  • Ensuring that the customer's requirements, which include project timing, part quality and delivery, are understood and met

  • Ensuring the shop environment is safe, clean and organized to enable timely and safe manufacturing techniques

  • Observing all company safety rules, policies and procedures
