SPM Oil & Gas, A Caterpillar Company, headquartered near Fort Worth, Texas, produces a full line of pumps, flow iron, consumable parts, wellhead and pressure control products that are offered via an extensive global network of service centers. SPM Oil & Gas is focused on our strategy of providing our customers expanded offerings and services which will now be one of the broadest in the well service industry.

We have an exciting position open within Caterpillar seeking an Operations Accountant to independently perform accounting functions which require preparation, analysis, and communication of issues of normal to high complexity that support Caterpillar business processes. This role focuses on communications with our operations team as a liaison between the front and back-office teams.

What You Will Do:

  • Creating reports on financial performance and providing insightful analysis for Service Centers

  • Maintaining internal financial system data and collaboration with operations teams

  • Upon request, take part in special projects and ad hoc reporting requests.

  • Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP.

  • Financial accounting including preparation of journal entries, financial statements, variance analysis, and account reconciliations.

What You Have:

  • Education and Experience : Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and 2+years of experience

  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision

  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems

  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

  • Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities

  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

  • Accounting: Knowledge of accounting methods, processes, and tools; ability to maintain and prepare financial statements and reports using accounting methods and processes.

  • Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.

  • Financial Reporting: Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports.

Additional Info :

  • The primary location for this position is Fort Worth, TX

  • This role is a full time, Hybrid position and currently requires 3 days a week in office

  • Domestic relocation assistance is available for those who qualify
