Texas Health Resources Registered Nurse - ICU, Full-time, Nights in Fort Worth, Texas

Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU – Full-time, 7P

High acuity ICU department is looking for top skilled nurses. Is that you?

Work location: Texas Health Southwest, 6100 Harris Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76132

Work hours: Full-time, 36 hours weekly, 3-12 hours shifts, 7:00 pm – 7:00 am

Department Highlights

  • ICU Department (18 bed); 1:2 nurse to patient ratio

  • High acuity level of care

  • Patient population includes respiratory failure, multisystem organ failure, renal failure, cardiovascular issues, isolation patients, etc.

  • Level III Trauma Center

Here’s what you need

  • Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred

  • CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (required)

  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire

  • BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly

  • ACLS – within 90 days of hire

  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 60 days of hire

  • NIHSS – within 6 months of hire required

  • 1 year experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required

  • Current RN experience in ICU setting strongly preferred - will consider ED experience

In addition to the required qualifications, a successful RN will

  • demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

  • The professional nurse exhibits understanding of basic human needs.

  • The professional nurse demonstrates recognition and understanding of patient’s affiliations.

What You Will Do

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

  • assesses the patient

  • plans the care of the patient

  • intervenes as appropriate

  • evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.

  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information

  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
