Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the supervision of the nurse manager, the registered nurse provides holistic, individualized patient care in response to emergent, identified needs. Additional functions will be performed in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and ENA standards in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the organization. PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS · All seasonal RNs are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period.· Within a close geography, you may be asked to float to another facility that has an emergent staffing need. · Four (4) weekend shifts are required each 4 week schedule period.· During the course of the 32-week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee). · Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call-off. There are no guaranteed hours by the hospital.· Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for benefits, except 401(k) and retirement contribution per the PRN policy.· Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for extra shift bonuses · Registered Nurses who are in the Seasonal program will have one opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluation. · Current FT/PT & PRN Level 3 employees are not eligible to join the Seasonal program for 2024-2025 with the exception of RNs that participated in the Seasonal program in the previous year.· Current employees of HWS are not eligible for the seasonal program. Shifts may vary based on the needs of the department.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

  • Registered Nurse licensed in the state of TX or compact license

  • Associate Degree required, BSN preferred

  • Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course, or PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

  • TNCC preferred

  • CEN preferred

  • 2+ years of Emergency Room experience in an acute acre hospital requiredMedical City Fort Worth is a 350+ bed full-service Magnet Designated hospital.
