Registered Nurse (RN) Maternal/Newborn – Full-time

Oh baby, We Have Expanded!

  • Work location: Texas Health Southwest, 6100 Harris Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76132

  • Work hours: Full-time, 36 hours/week, 7PM-7AM with holiday and weekend requirements

Maternal/Newborn Department highlights:

· Self-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth

  • Mother friendly designated, Texas 10-Step designated, Level III Maternal designated and Magnet designated facility

· Our team is like a family with a newly renovated Mother/Baby, couplet care unit with 26-beds

· Average between 275-285 deliveries per month in a fast-paced couplet care unit

· Part of the CHAMPS national initiative for breastfeeding education

Here’s What You Need

· Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program OR Nursing Diploma

· BSN is preferred

· RN – Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required

· One-year (1) Year Experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) or completion of an RN residency program Required

· One year or more of Maternal/Newborn, Mother/Baby, Couplet Care RN experience strongly preferred

· BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required

· NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days

· CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required

What You Will Do

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

· Assesses the patient

· Plans the care of the patient

· Intervenes as appropriate

· Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

· Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.

· Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information

· Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
