JOB SUMMARY The Senior Production Engineer role at BKV will be responsible for managing and optimizing both our operated and non-operated gas wells production in Texas (Barnett Shale). These activities include but are not limited to proactively maintaining base production, well surveillance, optimization of underperforming well(s), designing well intervention plans and monitoring execution by operations team, and building analytical models to troubleshoot and understand performance behavior(s). The Senior Production Engineer will work with the operations and reservoir teams to implement automation, reduce downtime, reduce LOE, and optimize field-wide operating parameters (i.e. system pressure, compressors, facilities, etc.). Frequent work with interdisciplinary teams to build and maintain production and financial dashboards, as wells as budgeting, designing and implementing technical studies. This role is a seasoned professional who applies advanced job knowledge to achieve operational goals. Works independently with limited supervision. May manage projects and processes to improve efficiencies. May coach and review the work of junior employees. Problems faced are typically difficult and sometimes complex. Demonstrates integrity, accountability and transparency; upholds BKV standards, values and culture. RESPONSIBILITIES Typical job responsibilities of the SENIOR PRODUCTION ENGINEER include: • Manage base production of both operated and non-operated assets. • Conduct production surveillance including identifying and eliminating sources of downtime. • Optimize artificial lift including plunger lift and rod pump wells. • Manage lease operating expenses. • Identify, plan, prioritize and execute projects. • Perform lookbacks on projects. • Develop procedures for well intervention including workovers and wireline. • Stay up to date on existing and emerging technology. • Collaborate and communicate with asset team and JV partners. • Develop dashboards and reports. • Support and contribute to field studies. • Other duties as required. REQUIRED SKILLS • Understanding of natural gas industry standards, market trends, emerging issues, and regulatory requirements. • Possess a strong fundamental knowledge of productions engineering and operations experience. • Working knowledge of geology and petrophysics. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office including advanced Excel skills, Access and/or SQL, Spotfire and/or Power BI, WellView, Fekete Harmony, and nodal analysis (Prosper, Perform, SNAP, etc.) in Microsoft Office and job-related applications. • Must have the ability to work in a highly innovative, fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Advanced interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills. • Advanced attention to detail, organization and prioritization. • Advanced cognitive, decision-making and problem-solving skills. • Growth mindset with a demonstrated ability to innovate, embrace change and have grit. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering required. • Typically requires a minimum of 7 years relevant industry experience of productions engineering and operational experience in tight and unconventional resource plays. Completions and reservoir engineering experience is a plus. PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS • This position is located in the Barnett Field / Fort Worth Basin and is based out of the BKV Fort Worth, Texas office. • Indoor working environment that requires the ability to perform repetitive motions and operate standard office equipment. • May occasionally be exposed to distracting noise level while sharing office space with others. • Hybrid of indoor & outdoor working environments, depending on assignment. • Requires ability to perform repetitive motions, operate standard office equipment, potentially stand for long periods of time, and engage in frequent pending, stopping, pushing, and lifting items more than 20lbs. • Periodic travel to Denver may be required.
