Essential part of the Finance and Operations teams by serving in a critical workforce planning role, while managing a major portion of the stations’ expenses. Position resides in the Finance department and reports directly to the Finance Director along with significant interaction with the Regional VP of Finance and other station management.
Primary Responsibilities:
Key preparer/lead for following functions:
Headcount Analytics
Month End Close & variance analysis
Financial/Balance Sheet reconciliations
Capital tracking and pacing
Budgeting and forecasting
Accounts payable investigations and resolutions
Partner with the managers of the operating groups to review budget performance and assess impact of operational changes
Responsible for preparing and evaluating key operational and financial metrics
Develop, design and evaluate models for business process improvements to be shared with senior and operational management
Manage ad hoc projects and report requests
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
Minimum 2 years of work experience in finance, public accounting or operations
Strong aptitude for complex problem solving and an ability to identify and implement process improvement and change management
Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to influence and lead change
Desired Characteristics:
Ability to adapt and work well in a fast-paced, results-oriented and rapidly changing environment
Demonstrated ability to deliver on multiple assignments, meet tight deadlines, and be effective and decisive under pressure
Past work experience in the Media industry or broadcast environment, preferred
Desire to grow in career and assume additional responsibilities
Superior organizational skills
Analytical mindset with an ability to drive results based on analysis
Ability to write, speak and present effectively
Ability to read, interpret and apply contractual elements to business
Solid excel skills with the ability to create pivot tables and advanced formulas
Working knowledge of finance (Accounts Payable, General ledger, etc.)
