Job Summary and Qualifications
Under the supervision of the manager and registered nurse, the certified surgical technician provides safe and efficient care to the patient in the operating room. Included in this assignment is a strong working knowledge of the perioperative setting and effective communication skills in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the organization.
What qualifications you will need:
Basic Cardiac Life Support
Certified Surgical Technician (CST), or Certificate
1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting
Graduate of a formal training program in operating room technology and/or from an accredited school of Nursing, must pass CST exam within 180 days of graduation
Graduate of an accredited educational program for Surgical Technologist and current CSTorcompletion of an appropriate training program for Surgical Technology in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps or Coast Guard of the United States or in the United States Public Health Serviceoremployed to practice Surgical Technology in a healthcare facility prior to September 1, 2009 required
Two years Operating Room Experience preferred
HCA Preceptor Training preferred
