The Opportunity
As the Principal Process Engineer with a strong background in the mining industry, you will play a critical role in leading and developing our process engineering discipline, setting high standards of quality, cost efficiency, and timely project delivery. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping and implementing business strategies, actively contributing to the growth of the Energy & Resources Business.
The Principal Process Engineer provides technical leadership across complex, multi-disciplinary mining projects, supporting and mentoring engineers, designers, clients, and stakeholders to achieve outstanding project outcomes.
This position has a significant focus on business development and collaboration, working with both internal and external clients to identify and pursue new opportunities. You will also represent Stantec in the broader industry, building relationships and elevating our brand.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering – Chemical.
Minimum 12 years of progressively responsible technical and management experience within the mining industry
Experience working with critical minerals (preferred)
Professional registration and commitment to gain appropriate Australian registration.
Project Management experience and certifications
Development of a strong network in the local and national marketplace.
Exceptional organisational, technical, leadership, written and oral communication skills.
You will have proven experience successfully delivery complex projects, working with high performing teams. Excellent organisation and time management skills are a given, along with a high level of financial competency, and an ability to prioritise tasks and multi-task to ensure deadlines are achieved.
