Job Description

Gilead's mission is to discover, develop, and deliver therapies that will improve the lives of patients with life-threatening illnesses worldwide. As an Associate Director, Digital Data Management, Data Strategy and Governance you will be responsible for maintaining data sanctity by taking ownership of digital data management process across multiple systems and providing the business acumen to monitor data quality, maintaining business rules and providing cross-functional support on digital data management related projects. This role will be a trusted advisor to the commercial organization on everything digital data.

Key Responsibilities

Data Acquisition:

  • Identify onboarding of right commercial data sets and integrate into analytics warehouse to support effective decision making for all commercial and data science teams

  • Work with multiple publishers, agencies, Gilead legal & compliance teams to execute on data agreements and data layouts to bring in the data into Gilead.

  • Support data enablement for key digital initiatives like Market Mix Media dashboards, Campaign metadata and taxonomy. Led the data collection and ingestion process across various agencies, publishers, and vendors across all brands

  • Led the development and maintenance of a data catalog and marketplace, along with a business rules repository for digital data assets

Data Integrity and Accuracy:

  • Own data management work streams from end to end which includes fidelity in operations of data warehouse as well as governance process around it.

  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of digital data by implementing robust data validation and cleaning processes

  • Develop and execute data quality assurance protocols to identify and resolve data discrepancies and inconsistencies both for aggregated data as well as HCP level data

  • Creates, Design and maintain data quality dashboards for digital data management processes

  • Manages and provides oversight for data onboarding, data staging, data processing process

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate various data sources into a cohesive data lake, ensuring seamless data flow and availability for marketing analytics as well as operations

  • Facilitates business rules discussions with cross-functional teams and other stakeholders

Technology Utilization

  • Influence the design of the analytics tech stack with end users needs and perspectives in mind; Lead efforts in de-identified patient mastering (Patient MDM) and data aggregation across channel and secondary data sets;

  • Having a deep understanding of digital eco system, Work with Data aggregator to facilitate provisioning of data to deliver key insights and also ability to activate marketing cohorts.

  • Lead and own the clean room environment working with multiple stakeholders across Gilead and external partners.

Continuous Improvement

  • Stay updated with the latest data management technologies, best practices, and industry trends to continually improve data management processes

  • Manage sustainment requests and prioritization for marketing data warehouse and reporting updates across franchises

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of experience or

  • Masters' Degree and 8 years of experience or

  • PhD and 2 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in data management within a digital marketing context.

  • Strong understanding of data compliance regulations such as GDPR and HIPAA.

  • Proficiency in data management tools and platforms

  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a matrixed organization.

  • Ability to effectively communicate technical and qualitative information to non-technical executives through interpersonal, verbal, and written channels.

The salary range for this position is: $177,905.00 - $230,230.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
