Job Summary and Qualifications
We are seeking an OR First Assist who will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Surgical Services department.
Responsibilities:
Utilizing principles of aseptic technique to create and maintain a sterile field.
Planning and providing equipment and supplies based on patient and physician needs.
Demonstrating competency in assisting the surgeon within the unit scope of care.
Promoting cost containment while delivering quality patient care in the operating room.
Participating in on-call assignments and demonstrating flexibility to cover staffing needs.
Performing other functions within Surgical Services to support departmental operations.
Providing a safe perioperative environment for surgical patients.
Serving as a professional member of the OR team.
Pursuing professional growth through continuing education and in-services.
Adhering to hospital policies and procedures, and supporting the hospital's mission.
Exercising sound judgment and decision-making skills on behalf of patients, self, and peers.
What qualifications you will need:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or Certified Surgical First Assistant Program
Certified Surgical First Assistant Licensure
Minimum of 3 years operating room scrubbing experience
Current BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association or CPR through American Red Cross
