Job Title: Process Innovation Engineer

Responsibilities Include:

  • Interface with the control system group, production team, and process engineers to create and update automation programs and plant control systems for batch and continuous systems at the site. The Process Engineer filling the role will own this initiative.

  • Creation of templates, documentation, and job aids

  • Oversee Batch Routing Master Data in the Manufacturing Execution System to include the creation and maintenance of ​ processes, steps: operating conditions, tag data, and equipment resources.

  • Facilitates training of site Operations, Information Specialists, and Production Engineers on creating and updating batch running master data, monitoring production progress using the MES interface application tools (IPC & PDA), releasing and confirming process orders, and consuming raw materials using plant weigh scales and process instruments

  • Serve as the site Subject Matter Expert for any future upgrades or enhancements. Support other MPM sites as a consultant on any new implementations .

  • Identify, track, and report on benefits and gains realized from fully utilizing the Manufacturing Execution System.

EHS

  • Consistently demonstrates a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets, employees, and the public

  • Ensures compliance with Momentive’s EHS Management Systems, Cybersecurity requirements, and all local, state, and federal regulations.

  • Responsible for safety on project work and maintenance-related activities not limited to MPM employees but also contractors & vendors.

Team Interface

  • Maintain close working interaction with the following stakeholders: Site Leadership Team, Unit Production Engineers, Operators, Control Systems Group, Corporate/Local IT, and serve as the site Subject Matter Expert on the Manufacturing Execution System application across the company.

Qualifications:

The following are required for the role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Electrical, Controls Engineering or related field.

  • 3+ years of experience as a Production, Process Engineer, or Control Engineer in an industrial chemical manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of batch and continuous chemical processes.

  • Strong safety consciousness, strong EHS awareness, and familiarity with EHS requirements.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills are essential.

  • Highly motivated and energetic, willing to demonstrate ownership of the new innovative site Manufacturing Execution System.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook / Office / Excel/ PowerPoint etc. – computer basics.

  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects.

The following are preferred for the role

  • Technical knowledge in industrial equipment and chemical products.

  • Familiarity with the following: SAP, Delta V DCS, Mettler Toledo weigh sales functionality, OSI PI data management platform

  • CI Lean methodology

  • Automation and digitization skill set

  • Process Safety Management

  • Batch and semi-continuous unit operation

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, climb, twist, turn, grasp, and move about the facility. Walking, walking on irregular surfaces, and balancing will be required. Hearing, sight to include depth perception and color vision, and the ability to speak clearly will be required. Occasional lifting and moving up to 50 lbs. and the ability to comply with PPE requirements (ability to pass a fit-test and wear a respirator is required for certain positions/locations).

The environment for this position is a Manufacturing setting, with exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noise. Candidates should be able to adapt to a traditional business environment. What We Offer:Base Pay Range: $88,000 - $129,250

The actua l salary offered i s determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, skill set s, and geography. Local geographic pay differentials may not be reflected in the above pay range and will be discussed with you by a member of the HR team when applicable . Additionally, this role is eligible for incentive or sales variable compensation payments. The amount of these incentives is based on the terms of the Company's incentive plans, the Company's financial performance, and/or individual employee job performance.
