Job Summary

Registered Nurse Charge oversees patient care, follows nursing regulations, fulfills organization's priorities, enhancing responsibility to promote mission. The main tasks of the role involve evaluating patients, identifying nursing diagnoses, creating personalized care plans, and assessing patient responses.

What You'll Do

  • You will utilize nursing judgement and reasoning to make precise health assessments, ensuring these assessments align with standard practices.

  • You will check nursing procedures. Use research to make changes.

  • You will demonstrate caring practices by addressing both emotional and physical discomfort, aiming to foster healing and prevent excess distress.

What Will Make You Successful In The Role

  • Familiarity with nursing and patient care protocols and practices.

  • Proven communication skills both in speech and writing.

  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities coupled with smart critical thinking skills.

Charge Nurse Requirements

  • At least five years of RN experience in Mother/Baby/Postpartum preferred

o M/B/PP Charge RN experience required.

  • Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program- Strongly prefer BSN or higher

  • License/Certification

o RN- Registered Nurse

o BLS- Basic Life Support (required within 30 days of hire)

o NRP- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (required within 30 days of hire)

o As this is a new unit/hospital, all nurses must be willing to float to all Women’s/Children’s units until fully staffed.
