The Bureau of Field Operations is responsible for the survey and certification process of health care facilities across the State of Florida. These surveys ensure that all state licensed and federally certified health care facilities meet the established state and/or federal requirements and patients and residents receive safe, quality health care. Field Operations staff also ensure the safety of residents in health care facilities when emergencies such as natural disasters occur.

The Work You'll Do:

This is secretarial work performing a variety of complex or technical secretarial duties in the Fort Myers Health Quality Assurance Field Office. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Primary responsibilities of this position include the utilization of ASPEN to prepare survey documents for certified surveys. This includes the receipt via e-mail of survey findings from surveyors, reading and editing the data submitted, drafting, and proofreading the survey document, completing the document as error free as possible before submitting to the reviewer. Duties include, but are not necessarily limited to, reading mail and screening items which can be handled independently and forwarding the rest to appropriate personnel; reviewing all written survey documentation submitted, assuring it is properly identified and filed; preparation of correspondence; operating duplicating equipment and other business machines; preparation and maintenance of facility survey files as prescribed. Scans and Laserfiche surveys and documents on a timely basis.

Utilizes a computer and related applications to research survey documentation in ASPEN. Runs various reports to retrieve data from VERSA and inputs data into VERSA, AEM, ACTS, and ACO as required, assuring accuracy of the database for management purposes.

Develops and maintains efficient filing systems for both electronic data and hard copy files. Periodically reviews files for purging or archiving and maintains other controls as needed. Assists in taking minutes at staff meetings and preparing minutes for distribution.

Handles telephone and written inquiries and complaints of a general nature from providers of the public. Assists with answering routine questions from the public and surveyors.

This position will be hired at the minimum salary of $1,260.00 biweekly and is non-negotiable.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

D. An individual employed in this position must have the ability to utilize microcomputer equipment and software to enter, retrieve, and manipulate data required to perform license and certification functions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 2 years of professional experience with computer data entry.

Preference given for experience with ASPEN and VERSA systems.
