Your Specific Responsibilities:

This position will provide technical assistance to end users as well as professional Information Technology staff. The incumbent must be available to work outside of normal work hours. The incumbent must consistently demonstrate effective interpersonal skills, exhibit strong problem-solving skills, and perform job duties with minimal supervision. This position will adhere to all information and security protocols.

Analyzes and resolves hardware, software, phone system and network communications problems using diagnostic software/hardware and/or technical trouble shooting processes.

Maintains opeating records relating to system production, performance and maintains an inventory of the network’s distributed processing hardware, software and training includes serial numbers, property numbers, level of software, type of training and to whom provided.

Installs and implements distributed computer systems (DCS) hardware and software.

Performs on-going networking audits to maintain system security and integrity.

Consults with users and assists the DCSA in conducting assessments to define needs and systems requirements.

Assists the DCSA in the design, configuration and analysis of a DCS environment with appropriate hardware, applications, software and communications components to solve business/office problems with the LAN.

Assists the DCSA in establishing and analyzing methods and procedures for use of the distributed computer systems including hardware, software, communications and user training.

Determines appropriateness of installing existing operating systems and applications software based on the local area networks’ specific work function, volume of work and systems storage capacity.

Operates equipment in conjuntion with the DCSA to test new programs. Monitors software and hardware use on the network and provides for on-going identification and resolution of user needs.

Performs all other duties as assigned in support of the Agency’s mission and vision.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of general office procedures and practices, correct grammar usage and basic arithmetic.

  • Must have the ability to prepare reports and correspondence, follow instructions, review data for accuracy and completeness, communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

  • Experience with computer hardware and software, notworking, and computer applications

  • Experience with Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office applications, and Active Directory

  • Minimum two years’ work experience in providing information technology services and support

    Qualifications:

  • Must maintain a valid U.S. Drivers’ License

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or other closely related field. Relevant work experience may be substituted for four-year degree requirement, on a year-for-year basis.
