System One Shop Technician in Ft Worth, Texas

  • Job Summary:

The Shop Technician is responsible for production (disassembly, assembly/repair), quality, and EHS. Initially, the main focus will support the wind gear drive business from an aftermarket perspective. Later, the scope will evolve to include new and aftermarket industrial businesses. The Operations Department plays an integral role in the organization by supporting all facets of the business.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Reports to the Production supervisor of the organization.

  • Adherence to safety requirements, such as PPE, chemical safety (MSDS), crane, forklift, and workstation inspections.

  • Adherence to internal systems related to Quality, ISO, and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) to ensure an efficient, competent, and effective operation.

  • Comprehension of Imperial and Metric tolerances.

  • Comprehension of internal drawings, bills of material, and procedural documentation.

  • Disassembly, cleaning, and inspection of gear drives per Repair Procedure Document Guidelines.

  • Perform visual inspection:

  • Record abnormal wear;

  • Measure and record respective bores and journals; and

  • Arrange and identify components (gearing) that passed visual inspection to receive further processing such as nondestructive testing and grinding.

  • Recycle unusable items such as bearings, damaged gearing, and auxiliary items.

  • Assembly and inspection of gear drive per Repair Procedure Document Guidelines

  • Disassembly, cleaning, and inspection of main shafts per Main Shaft Repair Procedure Document Guidelines.

  • Assembly and inspection of main shafts per Main Shaft Repair Procedure Document Guidelines.

  • Adherence to production schedule and completion of tasks in a timely manner.

  • Assisting with timing and continuous improvement exercises.

  • Maintain and clean equipment, tools (shared and individual), and workstations.

  • Adherence to 5S requirements.

  • Attending scheduled meetings such as daily production and weekly safety, when requested.

  • Minimum Qualifications:

  • The candidate should have a strong mechanical background. Gearing-related experience is a plus.

  • Must have a positive attitude and excellent communication skills (oral and written).

  • Must understand how to read metric drawings and tolerances.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft® Office and other internal programs.

  • Fluent in Mandarin or Spanish is a plus.

  • Education:

  • High school degree and/or comparable experience in the industry.
