2nd Shift Production Worker I
Job Description
A manufacturing company for premium labels is seeking a Production Worker Level 1. The individual will operate manufacturing equipment to produce rolls of material (labels) and ensure they are in the desired unwind position as specified. The role involves continuous quality checks for print and seam, removal of defective material, and splicing the roll web as per specifications. The worker will handle rolls, palletize them to avoid damage, and record data both on paper and in the company's operational system. Participation in special projects and other assigned duties is also required.
1PM - 9:30PM Monday-Friday
$19.15/hr
Responsibilities
Operate manufacturing equipment to produce rolls of material (labels).
Ensure rolls are in the desired unwind position as specified.
Continuously check print and seam quality.
Remove defective material and splice the roll web as per specifications.
Use a ruler, safety knife, and hole punch during splicing procedures.
Handle and palletize rolls to prevent damage.
Record and enter data on designated paperwork and in the company operation system.
Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
Experience in production, general labor, general production, machine operation, inspection, packaging, and packing.
Bilingual in Spanish.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide to figure label counts and conversions.
Ability to perform operations using units of American money, weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Proficiency in simple Windows-based applications.
Specific vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to read and understand job tickets.
Ability to work in a team environment with a high sense of urgency.
Self-motivated with the ability to stay focused and follow instructions.
Ability to stand and move around the production area for long periods of time.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Printshop experience is helpful but not required.
Assertive and solution-focused.
Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Physical ability to stand, use hands to feel and touch, reach with arms and hands, talk, and hear.
Frequent walking and occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
Regular lifting or moving of up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment
This position is located in a manufacturing site with over 150 employees and involves working around loud machinery. Employees are required to wear a hair net with hair up/beard net, safety glasses, ear plugs, and steel-toed shoes. Wearing steel-toed shoes is a must, and no jewelry is allowed. The shift schedule includes day, swing, and night shifts.
