Robert Half Accounting Assistant in Fullerton, California

Description We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to cover a 3-6 month leave of absence. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to contribute to a dynamic team and gain valuable experience in a supportive environment.

Job Overview:

The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for supporting various accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoice processing, data entry, and assisting with the month-end close process. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with accounts receivable tasks, including managing the creation of invoices and recording payments.

Support accounts payable by processing checks and managing vendor payments.

Address accounting queries and provide assistance in various accounting functions as needed.

Process sales orders and ensure accurate data entry into the accounting system.

Handle email correspondence related to accounting matters, ensuring timely responses.

Perform calculations and generate reports using Microsoft Excel.

Assist in the month-end close process by preparing and reconciling accounts.

Maintain organized records and documentation to support accounting activities.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as an Accounting Assistant or in a similar role.

Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.

Excellent data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in accounting or finance is a plus. Requirements
